PURPOSE

This privacy policy is intended to inform you (hereinafter referred to as “Users”, “you” or “your”) about the personal data we collect, use of collected data, and how your data is shared when using our Site www.durapaw.ca (the “Site”).  DuraPaw Pet Supplies Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “DuraPaw”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information.  Each time you access and/or browse our website, sign up for a membership, or purchase any of our Products (collectively the “Services”), we will make all reasonable efforts to protect your information and comply with all Canadian and provincial privacy and data protection legislation.  By using our Site, Users agree that they consent to the conditions set out in this Privacy Policy.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.” When you create an account on our Site or purchase a Product from us, our Site collects and stores data about you, including your name, email address, credit card information, and shipping and billing addresses.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers [[INSERT ANY OTHER PAYMENT TYPES ACCEPTED]]), email address, and phone number.  We refer to this information as “Order Information.”
When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

HOW WE USE PERSONAL DATA

Data collected on our Site will only be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or indicated on the relevant pages of our Site.  We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).  Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Processing your membership;
  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Personal Information may be processed and stored by DuraPaw and our Service providers on servers located outside of Canada.  Processing and storing your personal information are subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is handled or stored.
If you follow hyperlinks from our Site to another Site, please note that we are not responsible for and have no control over their privacy policies and practices.

MINORS

You affirm that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with DuraPaw, and you are of the age of majority in your province or territory of residence.

DATA RENTENTION

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

DO NOT TRACK NOTICE

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

KNOW YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

We offer an “unsubscribe” mechanism at the bottom of each of our email marketing messages so that you can opt out of receiving email marketing messages.
We welcome your questions and comments regarding the personal information that we have about you.  If you would like to change or update the information we have about you, or deactivate your account, please contact us at hello@durapaw.ca.  Your account information does not get deleted from our servers when you deactivate your account.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above.  Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

CONSENT

By using our Site and/or Services, you agree and consent to the conditions set out in this Privacy Policy.  Subject to contractual restrictions and reasonable notice to us, you may withdraw your consent at any time.  However, it will not make processing which we completed before you withdrew your consent unlawful, and it is possible we may not be able to provide our Services to you.

CHANGES

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we amend this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy.
